The successful completion of the Bijupirá and Salema (BJSA) decommissioning campaign marks the culmination of nearly two years of multidisciplinary engineering. What began with the first FEED activities in July 2024 has now reached its final milestone with the successful completion of the offshore campaign.
Engineering Scope of the BJSA Decommissioning Campaign
NSG Engenharia is proud to have contributed to this project from the earliest FEED studies through detailed installation engineering, helping integrate concept development, engineering design, fabrication, logistics, and offshore execution.
Our multidisciplinary team developed the engineering required to enable the recovery of flowlines, jumpers, and drag chains, including feasibility studies, hydrodynamic and operability analyses, weather window assessments, recovery procedures, rigging and seafastening design, fabrication drawings, installation aids, logistics studies, operational storyboards, HAZID support, and the engineering documentation required to execute the campaign safely and efficiently. Throughout the project, particular emphasis was placed on developing practical and optimized recovery methodologies that improved operational efficiency, minimized offshore time, and reduced execution risks.
By working closely with the client, fabrication suppliers, marine contractors, and offshore execution teams throughout the entire project lifecycle, we helped transform engineering concepts into practical and executable solutions, contributing to a safe, efficient, and successful BJSA decommissioning campaign.
This project demonstrates that successful offshore decommissioning campaigns are built long before the vessel sails. They are the result of close collaboration between engineering, fabrication, marine operations, and offshore execution teams, all working toward a common objective.
